Torsion of the Penis vs. Curvature of the Penis

Torsion of the Penis vs. Curvature of the Penis

Left picture: Here, the diagnosis is a torsion of the penis shaft where the external urethral orifice is turned in a clockwise direction to the right. Whenever the boy urinates in a standing position he doesn´t hit the bowl. Right picture: This toddler has a curvature of the penis in the sagittal plane in a ventral direction, which has, in addition to the hypospadias, several causes; therefore, depending on the degree of the curvature and the site of the urethral orifice, the urine does not end up in the bowl, but in the pulled down trousers, or on his feet.

Left picture: Toddler, in whom a conspicuous penis was seen during a preventive examination of the testicles for cryptorchidism. Like in the case report in the contralateral picture the boy must sit down on the toilet seat for micturation. Right picture: Toddler with a conspicuous penis. The mother does not allow him to pass urine in a standing position; like his sister he must sit down on the seat.
