Clubfoot (Clinical Presentation as before)

1-day-old newborn with a lumbosacral myelomeningocele with lipoma (lipomyelomeningocele). Clubfoot deformity of the right side. In this newborn the only gross motorial deficit is an asymmetry of the innervation of the foot muscles resulting in a deformity which resembles a clubfoot. On looking more closely some of the components of an autochthonal clubfoot are missing; the orthopedic treatment is difficult. Not only in myelomeningocele, but also in minimal spinal dysraphism similar asymmetric neurological deficits of the legs may result as in the presented case; in contrast to the myleomeningocele, the deficits are not present at birth in minimal spinal dysraphism, but develop later on.
