Rib Mass (Differential Diagnosis Chest Wall Tumor)

Dv chest x-ray with deformity of the right 4th rib dorsally and an adjacent inhomogeneous rounded mass. tubr_29b_n.jpg: According to the histological examination it is a tumor with connective tissue including multiple giant cells and multiple vessels. Clinically, radiologically, and histologically, the diagnosis is a giant cell tumor which is a semi-malignant tumor. The radiological findings correspond to a recurrence of a former tumor which has been resected elsewhere. Mainly the bones of the extremities are involved in giant cell tumors; the median age of occurrence is 30 years, and recurrences are observed in 50% depending on the treatment.
