Occurence 0-21 Years (Inguinal Hernia)

swel_1_n.jpg: Occurrence of age and sex in a large population of consecutive cases with inguinal hernia between the age of 0 and 21 years. There is a male preponderance, and most of them are male infants. With the beginning of schoolage inguinal hernias occur much less frequent. During childhood the distribution of sexes shifts in favor of boys; 3 boys in 1 girl in the first year of age versus 8 boys in 1 girl later in childhood.
