Abnormal Site (Torsion of the Testis)

Schoolchild with sudden onset of 'testicular' and groin pain on the left side. The left testis lies higher and abnormally in the corresponding scrotal pouch. The scrotal skin is not yet conspicuous. It is an early stage of torsion of the left testis. The testis is somewhat twisted and lies higher in the scrotum than the contralateral painless testis. Palpation confirms this impression and is in addition very painful. The scrotal skin does not yet show any reaction.
