Non-Operative Therapy (Congenital Muscular Torticollis)

Figure scha_20a_n.jpg to scha_20c_n.jpg: Non-operative treatment in a 7-month-old infant with a crossed plagiocephaly (referral diagnosis plagiocephaly of the backhead). There is a positional plagiocephaly because there are no local findings of the sternocleidomastoid muscles, such as hypertonus or fibrosis. Figure scha_20a_n.jpg: Looking from the top, the left front and the right part of the back of the head are flattened. Figure scha_20b_n.jpg: There is only a slight limitation to the rotation to the side (a little over 15 dgrees). Figure scha_20c_n.jpg: Therefore, only an active stimulation of the involved side and a preferred positioning on the not involved side were initiated.
