Early Results (Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis)

Early results in a population of 193 operated infants with hypertrophic pyloric stenosis. An uneventful postoperative course was observed in 98%. 1 patient (0.5%) each had to be re-operated for one of the following reasons: insufficient division of the muscles / postoperative obstructive ileus due to adhesions / unrecognized antral stenosis due to a web. The incidental opening of the stomach and duodenum (2% in $$regu_2??££ the alternate figure§§ ), as well as the incomplete division may be avoided by appropriate technique and experience; the same is true for postoperative obstructive ileus due to adhesions, which is a sequel of the opening of the mucosa.
