Therapy 1 (Omphalocele)

miss_26a_n.jpg and miss_26b_n.jpg: 1-day-old girl with a large omphalocele in the operating room prior to and following surgery with the use of an alloplastic sac. The weight of the abdominal organs allows partially a successive reduction into the peritoneal cavity. In this newborn, already 1-2 days after initial surgery, a first taking in of the sac can be planned depending on the intraabdominal pressure; notice the index finger of the surgeon in miss_26b_n.jpg, pointing to the available space within the sac. Later, a secondary closure of the abdominal wall was performed.
