Additional Examinations (Gastroschisis and Omphalocele)

Survey of the additional examinations in gastrischisis and omphalocele to discover combined malformations. Usually, a gastroschisis or an omphalocele can be diagnosed clinically by the presented local findings. The additional examinations of this survey serve the recognition of possible combined malformations. They are of prognostic significance and influence the prenatal proceeding, the perinatal and later therapy, and the time, sequence and methods of treatment. Additional examinations are also useful for the diagnosis of possible complications and serve as follow-ups of the operated gastroschisis or omphalocele.
