Types No.1 (Neurogenic Mediastinal Tumors)

Figure metu_3a_n.jpg: Operative findings in a child with a mass in the posterior mediastinum. The longitudinal-oval tumor has an intact capsule, although irregular vessels are visible on the surface, and the structure of the mass is not homogeneous. It is an example of a malignant neurogenic tumor, histologically a neuroblastoma of the mediastinum. Figure metu_3b_n.jpg: Resected specimen of another child with a neuroblastoma. The structure of the tumor is not homogeneous, which is visible even after presurgical treatment.
