Preparation Teratoma (Differential Diagnosis as before)

metu_11_n.jpg: Excised tumor from the anterior mediastinum which is demarcated and polymorphic and contains cystic as well as solid elements. It is a differentiated teratoma from the anterior mediastinum of a 10-month-old infant, which was removed due to its space-occupying size. The cystic parts are partially opened by the incision of the mass, and at their bottom the solid elements of the congenital tumor become visible. The histological examination confirmed the differentiated character of the teratoma and showed the different tissues of the ecto-, meso- and entoderm in an irregular arrangement.
