Cleft Nose (Cleft Lip Palate)

Figure liki_22a_n.jpg: The cleft lip palate surgery cannot always solve every problem in one or two sessions. Newborn with a left partial cleft lip. Figure liki_22b_n.jpg and Figure liki_22c_n.jpg: Inspite of the good result of lip surgery, there is an unfavorable shape of the so-called cleft nose with hypoplasia and malposition of the left nostril. The therapeutic options are (1) improved primary correction of the nose during lip closure and an additional shape-retaining tube, or (2) a secondary plastic correction at the end of the growth of the nose. In contrast to other soft tissue structures of the face, the nose exhibits a special growth spurt during puberty.
