Experimental Hydrocephalus
Figure hydr_4a_n.jpg and hydr_4b_n.jpg: Animal research in hydrocephalus. In 1919 Dandy demostrated for the first time that an occlusion of the aqueduct with a gelatine capsule leads - due to an obstruction of the CSF flow - to neurological symptoms and to a dilatation of the lateral ventricles within a few weeks (Dandy WE. Ann Surg 70:129,1919).
