Perinatal Hemorrhage

Besides structural alterations of the left hemisphere there is an acute hematohydrocephalus with dilatation of both lateral ventricles, and coagulated blood within the left ventricle. Figure hydr_10b_n.jpg: External ventricular drainage in the same patient surviving without artificial ventilation. Notice the closed drainage system behind the head with dark painted CSF by the residuals of old blood.
