Clinical Presentation (Incomplete Ureteral Duplication pre/post Surgery)

Incidence of urinary tract infection prior to and after surgery in a group of 15 patients with operated incomplete ureteral duplication of Y-type. Long-term follow-up results in comparison to a normal group of same age (column 1). Preoperatively, 1 to 2 urinary tract infections were observed per year independently of sex (column 2). Postoperatively, the rate of infections decreased to a value similar to that of the normal population (column 3). The growth of the kidneys corresponded to that of the contralateral normal kidney and none of the involved kidneys exhibited a pyelonephritic scar.
