Dilated Ureter 1 (UTI/VUR)

Operative findings of a ureter which was removed from the bladder in a 1.6-year-old girl; on compression with a finger the dilated ureter which is under pressure squirts a very fine stream. The diagnosis is obstructive megaureter in juxtavesical ureter stenosis which must be resected. The term 'megaureter' is mainly radiological; besides the obstructive megaureter a non-obstructive megaureter may be observed which is not operative, but needs follow-ups.
