Balloon-like Renal Pelvis 1 (Differential Diagnosis as before)

Kidney of a 9-year-old girl which has been removed due to a severe loss of function which means less than 10 % of the total renal function. The pelvis of the kidney looks like a balloon, and below the pelvis a constriction of the ureter is visible. The tight-lacing-like constriction points to an intrinsic ureteropelvic junction stenosis. The seemingly normal renal parenchyma is diminished to a small rim by the grotesque dilatation of the remaining pelvicocaliceal system which is not visible on this figure, and a fetal lobulation is simulated.
