Age Distribution of Renal Stones
This age distribution of renal stones was prospectively recorded from the beginning of 1990. X-axis: age in years; y-axis: number of cases.
Renal stones occur at any age of childhood; therefore, they must be included in the differential diagnoses of urinary tract infection, erythrocytes in the urinary tract, abdominal colics, and hematuria at any age.
The therapeutic measures 'non-operative', 'drugs and diet', 'shock wave lithotripsy', 'minimally invasive', and 'open surgery' have their specific indications and depend among other things on the cause of the stone formation.
