Abnormal Female External Genitals (Video)

This video illustrates the local findings in a newborn girl with absent anus. The intestine empties as a rectovestibular fistula behind the introitus of the vagina in the external genitals. At the beginning, the anorectal malformation may lead to an obstructive ileus. There is no union of the labia minora at the site of the posterior commissure which - together with the already mentioned findings - creates the impression of abnormal external genitals.
