Incidental Injury (Cerebral Concussion)

Figure comm_12a_n.jpg and comm_12b_n.jpg: Contusions, abrasions, hematomas, and other soft tissue lesions of unusual extension, shape, and localization may - as in the presented schoolchild - point to an incidental injury (battered child syndrome) mainly if the lesions are of different ages. The preferred patients are infants and toddlers; the preferred site the head.
