Respiratory Distress Syndrome of the Newborne and Dyspnea in a Schoolchild (Video)

The first part of this video shows a respiratory distress syndrome in a newborn caused by pneumonia. The second part of the video demonstrates signs of the respiratory system in a girl, which may be similar to the ones in a newborn with respiratory distress syndrome. These signs are visible in the face and in the excursions of the thorax. The abdominal findings after laparotomy show that neither an abdominal emergency with distended belly, nor high position of the diaphragm, nor pain is the cause of the respiratory life-threatening clinical presentation, but postoperative pneumonia if the history, the clinical findings, and the chest radiograph are used. The latter is not shown in the video.
