Postoperative Chest X-ray 1 (Additional Examinations)

In this postoperative chest x-ray, there are clearly recognizable domes of the diaphragm; in the right hemithorax there is normal lung structure, also visible in the left one, but mainly in the upper part. The heart shadow is located more on the right than on the left side of the body. There is a regular distribution of air in the abdomen. Following operative reduction of the intestine and closure of the left diaphragmatic defect, there is a normalization of both diaphragmatic domes, of the position of the mediastinum and incomplete occupation of the left hemithorax by the corresponding lung; due to a moderate hypoplasia of the left lung, shortly after surgery some extrapulmonic air is still present.
