Epidermoid Cyst vs. Neuroblastoma

Epidermoid Cyst vs. Neuroblastoma

Left picture: Here, the diagnosis is a mainly intraosseous epidermoid cyst. Right picture: In this case a metastasis of a neuroblastoma was removed from the bony defect, and there is still some residue in the soft tissue.

Two operative findings of skull defects. Left picture: The defect is round and appears like punched out, with sharp edges. A cystic mass is lifted by a swab from the osseous defect. Right picture: The defect is irregular, the rough diploe and a residue of tumor are visible at the lower border in the soft tissue.
