Therapy (Neurogenic and Other Mediastinal Tumors)

Survey of the indication to diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in mediastinal tumors. The indications for diagnostic or therapeutic thoracotomies or case-related to thoracoscopies depend on the suspected or confirmed lesion, on the necessity of additional information, and on the respective therapeutic schema. A fast and total excision of a mediastinal tumor with a save indication has several advantages: a) avoidance of inherent complications; b) cure of the lesion by excision; c) confirmation of the nature and dignity of the mass macroscopically and by histological examination; d) surgery can be performed at a favorable moment concerning the size and extension of the mass.
