Female Internal Genitals (Differential Diagnosis as before)

Findings during the revision of the internal genitals in a 11-year-old girl with acute abdominal pain and starting sexual development. Visible is the right developed ovary with follicles and part of the fallopian tube. Abdominal pain in patients at puberty may be caused by functional processes of the ovary, such as ovulation. Nowadays, vague abdominal pain in which acute appendicitis is not excluded is an important indication for diagnostic laparoscopy because besides the appendix the pelvic organs may be examined at the same time without much expense.
