Therapy 1 (Hypospadias)

9.4-year-old boy after total circumcision. The urethral orifice lies in the proximal third of the distance between the tip of the glans and the sulcus. It is a slight type of hypospadias or a normal variation of the site of the orifice without hypospadias. The case illustrates that in slight types of hypospadias an esthetically satisfying total circumcision may be sufficient as opposed to an expensive urethral reconstruction. On the other hand, in case of hypospadias an inexperienced surgeon should avoid any type of circumcision because otherwise, the prepuce is not available anymore for a possibly needed urethral reconstruction.
